Biography
Nathaniel Méchaly is a French composer. He studied the cello, chamber music and electroacoustic composition at the Conservatoire National de Région de Musique de Marseille and other national academies of music.
Méchaly's first feature score was for Raphaël Nadjari's Avanim (2004). He is credited on Revolver (2005), the Taken trilogy (2008–2014), Colombiana (2011) and The Grandmaster (2013). With Shigeru Umebayashi he won Best Original Film Score at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards and Best Composer at the 8th Asian Film Awards for The Grandmaster. He has also composed for television and contemporary dance.
