Biography
Nathaniel Parker is an English stage and screen actor born in London on 18 May 1962. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1986. His early screen work included roles in Hamlet (1990) and The Bodyguard (1992).
Parker is best known for playing the lead Detective Inspector Thomas Lynley in the BBC series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries (2001–2007) and Agravaine de Bois in the fourth series of Merlin (2011). Other notable film roles include Dunstan Thorn in Stardust (2007), Master Gracey in The Haunted Mansion (2003), and Sir Robert de Thibouville in The Last Duel (2021). He has also appeared in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) and Ophelia (2019).
His stage credits include an Olivier Award-winning performance as Henry VIII in the RSC productions of Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies.
