Biography
Navid Negahban is an Iranian-American actor. He was born on 2 June 1968 in Mashhad, Iran. He left Iran in 1985 and spent eight years working with a theatre company in Germany before moving to the United States in 1993. He is fluent in Persian, English and German.
Negahban is known for his television roles as Abu Nazir in Homeland (2011–2013) and Amahl Farouk / Shadow King in Legion (2017–2019). His film credits include Sheikh Al-Obodi in American Sniper (2014), the Sultan in Aladdin (2019) and General Abdul Rashid Dostum in 12 Strong (2018). He has also appeared in Lost (2004), The Mentalist (2008) and American Assassin (2017).
As a producer, Negahban worked on Baba Joon, which won five Ophir Awards including Best Picture. He received a BAFTA Games Award nomination for his performance in the video game 1979 Revolution: Black Friday (2017).
