Biography
Neil Gaiman is an English writer of novels, comics, short fiction and screenplays. Born on 10 November 1960 in Portchester, England, he has written for television including an episode of Babylon 5 (1998) and two episodes of the revived Doctor Who series (2011 and 2013).
His screen work includes the BBC series Neverwhere (1996), the screenplay for MirrorMask (2005), the English-language script for Princess Mononoke (1997) and co-writing the screenplay for Beowulf (2007). He has also contributed to adaptations of his own books such as Good Omens (2019–2026) and The Sandman (2022–2025).
Gaiman has received Hugo, Nebula and Bram Stoker awards, as well as Newbery and Carnegie medals. Beginning in 2024, multiple women made public accusations of sexual assault against him, which he has denied; these claims affected production on some adaptations of his work.
