Biography
Niels Vørsel is a Danish screenwriter. Born on 9 December 1953 in Aarhus, he began as a poet and author of novels and radio plays before entering film.
He has maintained a long collaboration with director Lars von Trier, co-writing the screenplays for The Element of Crime (1984), Epidemic (1987) and Europa (1991). Vørsel also co-wrote the television series The Kingdom (1994) and its sequel The Kingdom II (1997), and contributed to the American adaptation Kingdom Hospital (2004).
He appeared as himself in Epidemic and has received awards including the Carl Th. Dreyer Prize in 1995.
