Biography
Nikolaj Arcel is a Danish film director and screenwriter. He was born in Copenhagen on 25 August 1972 and graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2001.
Arcel co-wrote the screenplay for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) with Rasmus Heisterberg. He directed and co-wrote The Dark Tower (2017). His other credits include directing and co-writing A Royal Affair (2012) and The Promised Land (2023), as well as screenplays for several Danish films including the Department Q series.
