Biography
Rasmus Heisterberg is a Danish screenwriter and director. Born in Copenhagen in 1974, he trained at the National Film School of Denmark and began his career writing for television series before moving to feature films.
He has frequently collaborated with director Nikolaj Arcel. Their joint screenplays include King's Game (2004), Island of Lost Souls (2007), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) and A Royal Affair (2012). Heisterberg also wrote the screenplays for The Absent One (2014) and Northwest (2013), and made his directorial debut with In the Blood (2016). He has received nominations including a BAFTA for adapted screenplay.
