Biography
Norbert Weisser is a German-born American actor. Born on 9 July 1946 in Neu-Isenburg, Germany, he moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1960s. He is a founding member of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, the ProVisional Theater and the Padua Hills Playwrights Festival, where he originated the role of the Trickster in Murray Mednick's seven-hour play cycle The Coyote Cycle.
Weisser has appeared in numerous stage productions in Europe and the United States, including a Broadway role as Rode opposite Ed Harris in Ronald Harwood's Taking Sides. His film credits include Erich in Midnight Express (1978), a Norwegian in The Thing (1982), Albert Hujar in Schindler's List (1993) and roles in Chaplin (1992) and Hocus Pocus (1993). On television he has played Peter Schuler in Breaking Bad (2008) and Better Call Saul (2015).
He received an Ovation Award, an LA Weekly Theater Award and an LA Drama Critics Circle nomination for his performance as Oskar in John O'Keefe's Times Like These. Weisser has directed plays and produced two films directed by Albert Pyun. His son Morgan Weisser is also an actor.
