Biography
Oliver Cotton is an English actor and playwright. Born in London on 20 June 1944, he trained at the Drama Centre London and made his stage debut in New York in 1965.
He has worked extensively with the Royal National Theatre, appearing in numerous productions including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Hamlet, Julius Caesar and Much Ado About Nothing. He has also performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and in the West End, and was a founder member of the Joint Stock Theatre Company.
On screen, Cotton is known for roles such as Jean de Carrouges III in The Last Duel (2021), an air force general in The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Simon Stagg in Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), and Hrothgar in Beowulf (1999). He has appeared in many television series including Killing Eve and Midsomer Murders.
