Biography

Otis Harlan was an American actor and comedian. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, he began his career on the stage in the late 1880s and appeared in vaudeville and Broadway productions, including works by Victor Herbert and Irving Berlin.

He played Cap'n Andy in the 1929 film version of Show Boat and Starveling in the 1935 adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Harlan provided the voice of Happy in the Disney animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). He was the uncle of actor Kenneth Harlan and died in Martinsville, Indiana, in 1940.
