Biography
Pasquale Buba was an American film editor. Born in Braddock, Pennsylvania, he studied at Carnegie Mellon University before beginning his career in Pittsburgh at WQED, where he worked on PBS programmes including Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
Buba collaborated extensively with director George A. Romero, editing Knightriders (1981), Creepshow (1982), Day of the Dead (1985), Monkey Shines (1988), Two Evil Eyes (1990) and The Dark Half (1993). He also edited Striking Distance (1993), served as one of four editors on Michael Mann’s Heat (1995), and cut Al Pacino’s Looking for Richard (1996), for which he received an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award. Other credits include The Brave (1997) and further work with Pacino on Chinese Coffee (2000), Wilde Salomé (2011) and Salomé (2013). He was a member of the American Cinema Editors and died in Los Angeles in 2018.
