Biography
Pat Corley (1930–2006) was an American actor. Born Cleo Pat Corley in Dallas, Texas, he began performing as a teenage ballet dancer with the Stockton Ballet and later studied at Stockton College after serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He appeared in Broadway productions including the 1974–75 revival of Of Mice and Men and Sweet Bird of Youth (1975).
Corley was best known for playing bar owner Phil on the CBS sitcom Murphy Brown (1988–1996). He had a recurring role as Chief Coroner Wally Nydorf on Hill Street Blues (1981–87) and appeared in films such as Night Shift (1982), Against All Odds (1984) and Mr. Destiny (1990). His television work also included guest roles on series including Murder, She Wrote, Magnum, P.I. and Moonlighting.
