Biography
Patti LaBelle is an American singer and actress. Born Patricia Louise Holte on 24 May 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she began her career in the early 1960s as lead singer of the group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles, later known as Labelle.
She made her film debut as Big Mary in the 1984 drama A Soldier's Story. LaBelle has appeared in other films including Semi-Pro (2008) and television series such as American Horror Story (2014), Greenleaf (2016–2020), Star (2016–2019) and The Neighborhood (2018–2022). She has also performed on stage and contributed to film soundtracks.
