Biography
Paul Stewart, also credited as Paul D. Stewart, is a British cinematographer and producer specialising in natural history and science documentaries. He has worked extensively with the BBC Natural History Unit on series including Planet Earth (2006), Planet Earth II (2016) and Dynasties (2018).
After graduating in zoology in 1987 and completing a doctorate at Oxford University, Stewart trained as a wildlife cameraman with the BBC before going freelance in 2000. He has contributed to Netflix productions such as Our Planet (2019) and Prehistoric Planet (2022), for which he also received writing and producing credits, as well as Disney Nature films including Born in China (2016). He has won three Primetime Emmys and multiple BAFTA awards for cinematography.
