Biography
Peter S. Larkin (also credited as Peter Larkin) was an American production designer and scenic designer. He began his career on Broadway, designing sets for productions including the 1951 adaptation of The Wild Duck and later works such as Peter Pan, The Teahouse of the August Moon and No Time for Sergeants. He won four Tony Awards for Best Scenic Design.
Larkin moved into film work in the early 1980s. His credits include production design on Nighthawks (1981), Tootsie (1982), 3 Men and a Baby (1987), The Secret of My Success (1987), Get Shorty (1995), The First Wives Club (1996), Bean (1997), Miss Congeniality (2000) and Two Weeks Notice (2002). He was educated at Deerfield Academy and Yale University.
Larkin was born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1926 and died in Bridgehampton, New York, in 2019. He was married to painter Racelle Strick; his stepson is screenwriter Wesley Strick.
