Biography

Phillip Terry (born Frederick Henry Kormann, 7 March 1909 – 23 February 1993) was an American actor. He was born in San Francisco, California, attended Stanford University and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He performed in stock theatre in Britain before returning to the United States, where he worked in radio and made his film debut in the late 1930s.

Terry appeared in more than eighty films, often in supporting roles. He is known for playing Wick Birnam in The Lost Weekend (1945) and Alex Piersen in To Each His Own (1946). He also had roles in Born to Kill (1947) and several television series, including multiple appearances on Perry Mason. He was married to actress Joan Crawford from 1942 to 1946.
