Biography
Priscilla Pointer was an American actress of stage, film and television. She began her career in the theatre in the late 1940s, appearing in Broadway productions and tours including A Streetcar Named Desire and The Country Wife.
Pointer moved into screen work from the early 1950s, with recurring roles on television including Rebecca Barnes Wentworth in Dallas (1978–1986). Her film credits include Mrs. Snell in Carrie (1976), Mrs. Beaumont in Blue Velvet (1986) and Dr. Elizabeth Simms in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987). She was the mother of actress Amy Irving.
