Biography
Rachael Stirling is a British stage, film and television actress. She was born in London in 1977, the daughter of actress Dame Diana Rigg and theatre producer Archie Stirling. She studied art history at the University of Edinburgh and began her career in theatre.
She is known for her role as Becky in the BBC comedy series Detectorists (2014–2022). Other television work includes Nancy Astley in Tipping the Velvet (2002) and Millie in The Bletchley Circle (2012–2014). Film credits include the Duchess of Sutherland in The Young Victoria (2009), Anna in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and Mary Jones in Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2012). She has received two Laurence Olivier Award nominations for her stage performances.
