Biography
Ramsey Avery is a production designer. He studied astrophysics at the University of Wyoming before completing an MFA in Theatre Set Design at CalArts. He began his career as an art director on television and films including Roseanne, Minority Report (2002) and A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001).
As a production designer his credits include 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016), Peppermint (2018), Hotel Artemis (2018), No One Will Save You (2023) and Captain America: Brave New World (2025). He designed the Second Age settings for the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022), for which he won an Art Directors Guild Award. Upcoming films include Whalefall (2026) and Ramayana (2026). Avery has also designed for themed entertainment, including attractions at Disney’s California Adventure, and for national commercials.
