Biography
Rasmus Videbæk is a Danish cinematographer born on 21 February 1973 in Copenhagen. He trained at Den Danske Filmskole from 1995 to 1999 after earlier studies at the European Film College in Ebeltoft.
He is known for his work as director of photography on films including A Royal Affair (2012), Virgin Mountain (2015), The Dark Tower (2017), 12 Strong (2018), Out Stealing Horses (2019), Margrete: Queen of the North (2021), The Promised Land (2023) and episodes of the series The Crown (2022–2023). Videbæk has collaborated frequently with directors such as Nikolaj Arcel.
His awards include the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for Out Stealing Horses at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival and the European Film Award for Best Cinematographer for The Promised Land in 2023, as well as multiple Danish Bodil and Robert prizes.
