Biography
Ray June (27 March 1895 – 26 May 1958) was an American cinematographer. Born in Ithaca, New York, he attended Columbia University without graduating and served as a cameraman in the US Army Signal Corps during the First World War.
He worked in Hollywood from the mid-1910s, becoming a member of the American Society of Cinematographers. June was nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Cinematography: for Arrowsmith (1931), Barbary Coast (1935) and Funny Face (1957). Among his other credits as director of photography are Horse Feathers (1932), Treasure Island (1934), The Great Ziegfeld (1936), Night Must Fall (1937), Test Pilot (1938), Babes in Arms (1939), The Court Jester (1955) and Houseboat (1958).
