Biography
Richard Barton Lewis is an American film and television producer and writer. He co-founded Trilogy Entertainment with Pen Densham and John Watson, and later founded Southpaw Entertainment, where he serves as CEO.
Lewis graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in biological anthropology and earned a master's degree from the UCLA School of Motion Picture and Television Production. His feature film credits include Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), Backdraft (1991), Blown Away (1994), August Rush (2007), The Space Between Us (2017) and Inheritance (2020). He has also produced television series such as The Outer Limits (1995–2002) and created Poltergeist: The Legacy (1996–1999).
His productions have received numerous awards and nominations, including a Primetime Emmy win.
