Biography

Richard P. Rubinstein is an American film and television producer. He was born on 15 June 1947 in Brooklyn, New York. He studied at American University and received an MBA from Columbia University. In the mid-1970s he co-founded the production company Laurel Entertainment with director George A. Romero.

Rubinstein produced Romero's films Martin (1978), Dawn of the Dead (1978), Creepshow (1982) and Day of the Dead (1985). He also produced the anthology series Tales from the Darkside (1984–1988) and several adaptations of Stephen King novels, including Pet Sematary (1989) and Thinner (1996). Later credits include executive producer on the remake Dawn of the Dead (2004) and on Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024).
