Biography

Ringo Starr is an English actor and musician. Born Richard Starkey on 7 July 1940 in Liverpool, he gained fame as the drummer for the Beatles.

He appeared as himself in the Beatles films A Hard Day's Night (1964), Help! (1965) and Let It Be (1970), with a cameo in the animated feature Yellow Submarine (1968). Other film roles include Candy (1968), The Magic Christian (1969), That'll Be the Day (1973), Lisztomania (1975) and Caveman (1981). He has also narrated the children's series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends (1984–1986) and appeared in Monty Python's Flying Circus.
