Biography
Rob Cohen is an American film and television director, producer and screenwriter. Born on 12 March 1949 in Cornwall, New York, he graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1971 with a degree in anthropology and visual studies.
He began his career as a producer in the 1970s, working at 20th Century Fox and Motown Productions on films including The Wiz (1978) and Mahogany (1975). Cohen directed his first feature, A Small Circle of Friends, in 1980 and episodes of series such as Miami Vice (1984) and thirtysomething (1987). From the 1990s he focused on directing, with credits including Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993), Dragonheart (1996), The Fast and the Furious (2001) and xXx (2002). He also directed the television film The Rat Pack (1998).
