Biography

Robert Ginty was an American actor and director of film and television. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on 14 November 1948, he died in Los Angeles on 21 September 2009. He trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse and the Actors Studio after earlier work as a musician, and began his acting career in regional theatre and on Broadway before moving to Hollywood in the mid-1970s.

Ginty appeared in supporting roles in Bound for Glory (1976) and Coming Home (1978), and played the lead in the action film The Exterminator (1980) and its sequel. He later directed episodes of television series including Xena: Warrior Princess (1995), Charmed (1998) and Early Edition (1996).
