Biography
Robert John Burke is an American actor. He was born on 12 September 1960 in Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York City, and trained at the Acting Conservatory of the State University of New York at Purchase.
Burke began his career in the independent films of Hal Hartley, including The Unbelievable Truth (1989) and Simple Men (1992). He later appeared in RoboCop 3 (1993), Tombstone (1993) and Thinner (1996). His television roles include Mickey Gavin in Rescue Me (2004–11), Bart Bass in Gossip Girl (2007–12) and Ed Tucker in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2002–20). He played Charlie Mack in Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) and had a role in Munich (2005).
Burke is also a volunteer firefighter, serving as captain of an engine company on Long Island.
