Biography
Robert Knights is a British film and television director. He directed episodes of the BBC sitcom Dad's Army (1968), the anthology series Play for Today (1970) and the crime drama Public Eye (1965).
His other television credits include episodes of The Bill, A Touch of Frost, Waking the Dead and Monarch of the Glen. He directed the feature film The Dawning (1988) and the Channel 4 miniseries Porterhouse Blue (1987). Knights has received three BAFTA television award nominations and an International Emmy for Porterhouse Blue.
