Biography
Roger Lanser is an Australian cinematographer. He began his career at the ABC TV drama department in 1976 as a clapper loader and later worked as a focus puller and camera operator on numerous Australian productions before going freelance in 1988.
Lanser has had a long association with director Kenneth Branagh, serving as director of photography on eight feature films including Peter's Friends (1992), Much Ado About Nothing (1993), In the Bleak Midwinter (1995) and The Magic Flute (2006). For the latter he received the ACS Gold Tripod and Cinematographer of the Year award.
His other credits include Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (2012–2015) and its feature film spin-off Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020), as well as Australian features such as The Wog Boy (2000), Till Human Voices Wake Us (2002), Strange Bedfellows (2004) and Charlie & Boots (2009).
