Biography
Ronnie del Carmen is a Filipino writer, director, storyboard artist, illustrator and voice actor. Born Ronaldo del Carmen on 31 December 1959 in Cavite City, Philippines, he graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising. He moved to the United States in 1989 and began working in animation as a storyboard artist on Batman: The Animated Series.
Del Carmen joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2000 as story supervisor on Finding Nemo (2003). He served as production designer on the short film One Man Band (2005), story supervisor on Up (2009) and co-director and co-writer on Inside Out (2015). He voiced Bernie Lumen in Elemental (2023) and has also directed the short Dug's Special Mission (2009).
