Biography
Ronny Chieng is a Malaysian-born comedian and actor. He was born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and raised in New Hampshire in the United States and in Singapore. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with degrees in commerce and law.
Chieng began performing stand-up comedy in Melbourne around 2009. He won the Best Newcomer award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2012 for his debut hour The Ron Way. He has appeared as a correspondent and rotating host on The Daily Show since 2015.
His screen credits include Crazy Rich Asians (2018) as Eddie Cheng, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) as Jon Jon, M3GAN (2022) as David, Joy Ride (2023) as Chao, and the voice of Fish in Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024).
