Biography

Roy Brocksmith was an American actor. Born on 15 September 1945 in Quincy, Illinois, he graduated from Quincy University in 1970 before moving to New York City, where he began a career on Broadway. His stage roles included the balladeer in a revival of The Threepenny Opera and Louis XIII in The Three Musketeers.

Brocksmith appeared in numerous films and television series from the late 1970s. He played Dr. Edgemar in Total Recall (1990) and a board member in The Hudsucker Proxy (1994). Other credits include roles in Scrooged (1988), Tango & Cash (1989), Arachnophobia (1990), Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) and the series Picket Fences (as Principal Michael Oslo) and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He was also credited as Ray Brocksmith.

He died on 16 December 2001 in Burbank, California, aged 56.
