Biography
Ruy Filipe is a South African costume designer working in film, television and stage. His credits include Hotel Rwanda (2004), Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013), Eye in the Sky (2015), Silverton Siege (2022) and Deep Blue Sea 3 (2020).
He has also designed costumes for earlier productions such as Dust Devil (1992) and Cyborg Cop (1993), and for television series including Wild at Heart and the mini-series The Looming Tower (2018). Filipe has received four wins and two nominations for his work.
