Biography
S. S. Wilson is an American screenwriter, producer and director. He frequently collaborates with writing partner Brent Maddock and is a founding partner of Stampede Entertainment.
Wilson studied film at Pennsylvania State University and the USC graduate film programme. Early in his career he worked in animation and educational films before breaking into features with the screenplay for Short Circuit (1986).
He is best known for his work on the Tremors franchise, including the screenplay and story for the 1990 film (on which he also served as producer and second-unit director), as well as later entries such as Tremors 2: Aftershocks (1996) and Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004). Other credits include screenplays for batteries not included (1987), Short Circuit 2 (1988), Heart and Souls (1993) and Wild Wild West (1999).
