Biography
Saladin K. Patterson is an American television writer and producer. He grew up in Montgomery, Alabama, attended the Loveless Academic Magnet Program, and studied electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before completing a master's degree in psychology at Vanderbilt University.
He left Vanderbilt for a Disney/ABC Writing Fellowship and began his career as a staff writer on Teen Angel. Patterson wrote for Frasier (1993) from 2000 to 2003, advancing to co-producer, and contributed to The Bernie Mac Show as a writer and co-executive producer. He later served as co-executive producer on Psych for seven years.
Patterson developed and executive-produced the 2021 revival of The Wonder Years. He is showrunner of the King of the Hill revival, which premiered in 2025, and has held overall deals with 20th Television. Other credits include writing or producing on The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, DAVE and The Fighting Temptations (2003).
