Biography
Sam Edwards (26 May 1915 – 28 July 2004) was an American actor. Born in Macon, Georgia, he grew up in a show-business family and began performing as a child, appearing on radio in series such as The Adventures of Sonny and Buddy and One Man's Family.
Edwards supplied the voice of adult Thumper in the Disney animated film Bambi (1942). His film credits also include Twelve O'Clock High (1949), Operation Pacific (1951), The Beatniks (1960), Hello, Dolly! (1969) and The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981).
On television he played banker Bill Anderson in Little House on the Prairie (1978–1983) and appeared in numerous series including Dragnet, Gunsmoke, Mission: Impossible, Happy Days and The Dukes of Hazzard.
