Biography
Sam Weisman is an American film and television director, producer and former actor. Born in Binghamton, New York, he studied at Deerfield Academy and Yale University before earning an MFA in acting and directing from Brandeis University. He began his career as an actor on the New York stage and in television, including a recurring role in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, before moving into directing.
Weisman directed multiple episodes of series including Family Ties, Moonlighting (1985) and L.A. Law. His feature films as director include D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994), Bye Bye Love (1995), George of the Jungle (1997), The Out-of-Towners (1999), What's the Worst That Could Happen? (2001) and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003). He has received three Primetime Emmy nominations for his television work.
