Biography
Samia Shoaib is a Pakistani-born American actress and writer. Born on 25 June 1970 in Pakistan and raised in London, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and performed in stage productions including The Tempest, As You Like It, No Exit and The Women.
She later studied English and theatre at the University of California, Berkeley and George Washington University, and completed an MFA in film at Columbia University. Shoaib appeared in supporting roles in films such as Pi (1998) as Devi, The Sixth Sense (1999) as the young woman buying a ring, Requiem for a Dream (2000) as Nurse Mall, and SubUrbia (1996) as Pakeesa Choudhury, as well as television episodes of Law & Order, La Femme Nikita and Sex and the City. She has also written and directed short films.
