Biography
Sarah Shahi is an American actress. Born Aahoo Jahansouzshahi on 10 January 1980 in Euless, Texas, she began her career as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader in 1999–2000. While working as an extra on the 2000 film Dr. T & the Women, she was encouraged by director Robert Altman to pursue acting in Los Angeles. She studied at Southern Methodist University.
Shahi gained recognition for recurring and lead roles in television series including Carmen de la Pica Morales in The L Word (2005–2009), Dani Reese in Life (2007–2009), Kate Reed in Fairly Legal (2011–2012) and Sameen Shaw in Person of Interest (2012–2016). Her film credits include Old School (2003), Rush Hour 3 (2007) and Black Adam (2022).
She has continued to work in television with roles in Sex/Life (2021–2023) and as Dr. Gabriela Torabi in the Hulu series Paradise (2025–).
