Biography
Shannon Baker Davis is a film and television editor. She began her career in New York editing unscripted programmes and documentaries, including Top Chef and Project Runway. After a decade in that field she moved into scripted work.
Her credits include the series Queen Sugar (2016), grown-ish (2018), Insecure, #blackAF, American Crime Story, From Scratch (2022), Grotesquerie (2024), Doctor Odyssey (2024), Ironheart (2025) and The Beauty (2026). Feature films include The Weekend (2018), The Photograph (2020) and Prom Pact (2023).
Davis is a member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and mentors through its Diversity Mentorship Program. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture Editors Guild and co-chairs its African-American Steering Committee. She is a founding member of Ujima Entertainment Coalition and Black In Post. She studied at Howard University and the American Film Institute.
