Biography
Sharon Rooney is a Scottish actress born on 22 October 1988 in Glasgow. She trained at the University of Hull and began her career in the early 2010s.
Her breakthrough came with the lead role of Rae Earl in the Channel 4 series My Mad Fat Diary (2013–2015), for which she won a BAFTA Scotland award. She has since appeared as Sophie in the BBC sitcom Two Doors Down (2013; 2016–2017) and as Dawn in the ITV series Brief Encounters (2016).
Film roles include Miss Atlantis in Dumbo (2019), Josephine Wain in The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (2021) and Lawyer Barbie in Barbie (2023).
