Biography
Sheryl Lee is an American actress. Born on 22 April 1967 in Augsburg, Germany, she grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the North Carolina School of the Arts, the National Theatre Conservatory and the University of Colorado. She began her professional career in theatre in Seattle.
Lee first gained international attention for her performances as Laura Palmer and Maddy Ferguson in the television series Twin Peaks (1990) and the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), both directed by David Lynch. She appeared as The Good Witch in Lynch's Wild at Heart (1990). Other film roles include Astrid Kirchherr in Backbeat (1994), Katrina in Vampires (1998) and April in Winter's Bone (2010). She has also worked extensively in television, with recurring roles in series such as L.A. Doctors, One Tree Hill and Dirty Sexy Money, and returned to the role of Laura Palmer in the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks.
