Biography
Shintarô Nakazawa, also credited as Shintaro Nakazawa or 仲澤 慎太郎, is a Japanese animation director, episode director and storyboard artist.
He began working in anime production in the mid-2000s, serving as assistant production manager on Studio Ghibli films including Ponyo (2008) and later as assistant unit or episode director on Arrietty (2010), From Up on Poppy Hill (2011), The Wind Rises (2013), When Marnie Was There (2014) and Mary and the Witch's Flower (2017). He contributed to The Boy and the Heron (2023) as assistant unit director.
Nakazawa has directed episodes of television series including Haikyu!! (2014–2016), Maria the Virgin Witch (2015) and Welcome to the Ballroom (2017), and directed, storyboarded and episode-directed the sixth episode of the Netflix series The Grimm Variations (2024). He has also provided storyboards for series such as Haikyu!!, Run with the Wind and Ranking of Kings.
