Biography
Shirley Anne Field, also credited as Shirley Ann Field, was an English actress who worked in film, television and theatre from 1955. She began as a photographic model and appeared in small, often uncredited parts in mid-1950s British films before gaining larger roles.
She appeared in Horrors of the Black Museum (1959), Peeping Tom (1960), The Entertainer (1960), Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960), The Damned (1962), Kings of the Sun (1963) and Alfie (1966). Later credits include My Beautiful Laundrette (1985), Shag (1989) and Hear My Song (1991), in which she played Cathleen Doyle. She also appeared in episodes of Murder, She Wrote (1984).
Field trained at the Lucie Clayton School and Model Agency and performed on stage, including in The Lily White Boys.
