Biography
Simon Woods is an English actor and playwright. He is best known for playing Mr Charles Bingley in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice and Gaius Octavian Caesar in the television series Rome (2005–2007). Other screen credits include Starter for 10 (2006), Penelope (2007), Cranford (2007) as Dr Harrison, and episodes of Spooks and Foyle's War.
Woods attended Eton College and read English at Magdalen College, Oxford. After a brief period working at The Guardian, he began acting. He later turned to writing; his play Hansard premiered at the National Theatre in 2019, and he directed the short film Such a Lovely Day (2024).
Since 2012 he has been married to Christopher Bailey, the former chief executive of Burberry.
