Biography
Sinéad Kidao is an Irish costume designer. She graduated from a postgraduate course in theatre costume at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2010. She began working as a costume assistant after being introduced by Mike Leigh to Jacqueline Durran for the short A Running Jump (2012) and went on to assist Durran on nine features, including Anna Karenina (2012), as well as Lindy Hemming on The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).
Kidao has designed costumes for Small Axe (2020), for which she worked on the episodes 'Red, White and Blue' and 'Education'; The Pursuit of Love (2021); Golda (2023); and Joy (2024). She was nominated for a BAFTA Television Craft Award for Best Costume Design in 2022 for The Pursuit of Love. She has also created The Costume Directory, a resource on sustainable suppliers published by BAFTA’s Albert Consortium.
