Biography
Sofie Gråbøl is a Danish actress. She made her film debut in 1986 in Oviri, playing opposite Donald Sutherland, and took the lead role in the film adaptation of Tove Ditlevsen's novel Barndommens gade (also known as Early Spring), directed by Astrid Henning-Jensen. On television she has appeared in the series Taxa and Nikolaj og Julie.
Gråbøl achieved international recognition for portraying Detective Inspector Sarah Lund in the Danish crime series The Killing (Forbrydelsen, 2007–2012). The series was broadcast on BBC Four, won a BAFTA award, and brought her widespread attention in the UK. She played Catherine Stamper in the 2020 HBO miniseries The Undoing.
Other credits include The Boss of It All (2006), Gentleman Jack (2019) as Queen Marie, and The Chestnut Man (2021).
