Biography
Stephanie Portnoy Porter is an American costume designer. Born in Los Angeles, she grew up in the Bay Area and studied costume design at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Southern Oregon University. Her early career included work at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and designing for several theatre companies. She later styled musicians including Sting and Blink-182.
Porter has designed costumes for several films directed by Zack Snyder, including Army of the Dead (2021) and Army of Thieves (2021), and collaborated with designers Michael Wilkinson and Colleen Atwood. She served as assistant costume designer on films such as Django Unchained (2012), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022). Her television credits include costume design for the IFC series The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman.
She received a Chainsaw Award for her work on Prey (2022), her first film with director Dan Trachtenberg, and designed the costumes for Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023) and its sequel.
