Biography
Stephen J. Anderson is an American animator, film director, screenwriter and voice actor. He studied at the California Institute of the Arts and worked as an animator at Hyperion Animation before joining Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1995 as a story artist on Tarzan (1999). He advanced to story supervisor on The Emperor's New Groove (2000) and Brother Bear (2003), and contributed additional voices to the former.
Anderson made his feature directorial debut with Meet the Robinsons (2007), which he also wrote. He co-directed Winnie the Pooh (2011) with Don Hall. He has since worked as a storyboard artist on films including The Garfield Movie (2024) and served as supervising director on the first season of the series Monsters at Work (2021). He has received Annie Award nominations for his contributions to The Emperor's New Groove and Winnie the Pooh.
