Biography
Stevan Larner was an American cinematographer. Born Stevan deFreest Larner on 6 February 1930 in New York City, he died on 6 November 2005 in Solvang, California.
He worked as director of photography on feature films including Badlands (1973), The Buddy Holly Story (1978), Caddyshack (1980) and Steelyard Blues (1973). His television credits include Roots (1977), North and South (1985) and Beauty and the Beast (1987); he won a Primetime Emmy for The Winds of War (1983). Earlier in his career he made documentaries for the US Information Agency and taught film at UCLA. He later became a winemaker in California.
